A massive fire broke out in two adjoining godowns of 2,000 sq ft and 250 sq ft area in New Nana peth on Tuesday morning. The buildings stored packaging bakery material and old clothes.

Fire officer Pradeep Khedekar said they received a call around 5 am and three water tenders and 10 fire jawans rushed to the spot. The blaze was contained in half an hour. The fire brigade department said that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
