The school board has carried out the tendering process and put the proposal to repair and renovate toilets in civic schools at the cost of ₹84.62 lakh.
According to officials, as PMC-run schools were shut during the pandemic, the toilets are in a bad shape and need renovation. Considering this, the proposal was sent to the standing committee and it is likely to be approved as the contractors have quoted an amount which is below the estimate.
Along with school toilets, the PMC officials have also put forth a proposal to repair public toilets at the cost of ₹3.48 crore. Two different proposals had been floated for it. The additional municipal commissioner has given a nod to it and final approval from municipal commissioner is awaited.
