After installation of the 300th pier at Balewadi in February, the executing agency of Pune Metro Line 3 has set a record for completing the erection of another 100 piers in just 30 days, claimed officials.

“The Pune Metro Line 3 piers have a circular shape with a diameter of 2000 mm. These piers are being made to be fully compliant with the design parameters of the metro rail system. Also, they strictly follow all construction safety parameters as mentioned in the design and construction manual of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The developers have pulled their socks to achieve the project deadline by ensuring speedy work at various locations across the Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar stretch,” said Alok Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer, Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd.

The construction of the metro between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar will provide easy, convenient, and affordable public transport options.
