Pune police invoke MCOCA against three; 109th case this year

Accused have been booked by the Warje police for various crimes, including inflicting physical injuries and property offences.

The Pune police have booked three repeated offenders under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), the 109th case in Pune in 2022.

The accused identified as Mangesh Vijay Jaditkar (22) of Shivane and his associates Saurabh Prakash Mokar (22) of Uttam Nagar and Shubham Anil Suddewar (25) of Warje have been booked by the Warje police for various crimes, including inflicting physical injuries and property offences.

According to the police, Jaditkar has criminal cases related to spreading terror amongst citizens, attempt to murder, rioting, possession of illegal arms and unlawful assembly. Rukmini Galande, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Kothrud division, has been appointed as the investigative officer in the case.

The crackdown against organised crime syndicates by Pune police commissionerate began after the police received criticism from political leaders about the law and order situation in the city.
