Two suspected members of outlawed Maoist faction People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were arrested from a forest under Gidra police outpost area in Simdega district on Wednesday, officials said.

The two arrested persons are members of “Sahu Dasta” of the PLFI, which is active in neighbouring West Singhbhum district and Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh, a statement from the office of Simdega superintendent of police said.
“The action was taken on a tip-off that PLFI members were in the area for recruitment of cadre and other related activities in Raikera-Patratoli. A team led by in-charge of Gidra outpost raided the village. The accused try to flee but were captured. Arms, ammunition, a motorbike besides other objectionable items were recovered from the duo,” the statement said.
