The Pakistan team came close to getting embroiled in another controversy. Images of Pakistan pacer Mohammad Aamer talking on a cellphone were flashed in Pakistan television channels during their match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

The incident created a stir to the extent of murmurs of match-fixing especially after the tourists lost the match by 16 runs. But Pakistan team manager Yarwar Saeed denied any such claims saying: “Aamer’s posture sitting next to me in front of the camera with his hand on his helmet speaking to us gave an impression of him speaking on the cellphone.”

“I have given a clarification to my Board (PCB),” Saeed said. The ICC has also given Aamer the clean chit.
