AB De Villiers continued his brilliant run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 as he slammed his sixth half century of the season for Royal Challengers Bangalore during their match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Saturday.

Chasing 165, RCB lost skipper Virat Kohli early as he was castled by Krishnappa Gowtham in the third over of the match. However, Parthiv Patel and De Villiers were ruthless in the powerplay overs as both of them scored freely against the RR bowlers.

De Villiers slammed Joffra Archer for three boundaries in the third over and he scored two more off Ben Laughlin as the South Africa international looked in superb touch. He punched the ball past mid-on for his first boundary and then followed it up with a cheeky four through third man.

RCB did lose two quick wickets, but that had no effect on De Villiers as he continued to score freely and two consecutive boundaries off Ish Sodhi was exactly what the visitors needed to regain their confidence.

De Villiers reached his half century in the 12th over when he punched Sodhi for another boundary through deep square leg. He reached the milestone in 31 balls and this was his 28th IPL fifty overall.
