Australia had resumed on 200 for six with Michael Hussey going on to make 32 and Mitchell Starc hitting a useful 21.

West Indies spinner Shane Shillingford took 4 for 100 to finish with 10 wickets in the Test.

Ricky Ponting, in almost certainly his final innings in the Caribbean, made a crucial 57 while opener Ed Cowan made 55 in a third wicket partnership of 87 runs.
