Even as the cancellation of the tour of Pakistan, the two England ODIs and the postponement of the Champions League have led the BCCI to a revenue loss of Rs 122 crore, it is planning a new initiative.

The board is working out the modalities to organise a corporate cricket tournament where the total prize money will be Rs 2 crore and the winners will walk away with Rs 1 crore.

This puts in the shade the prize money for the Ranji Trophy, the premier domestic first-class tournament. Ranji winners this year will take home Rs 60 lakh.

"We have not firmed up the modalities yet. A committee is in place to look after the details and once they meet, the details will be worked out," a BCCI official told HT.

The committee is led by Sanjay Jagdale and includes administrators such as KS Viswanathan, Ratnakar Shetty and Ranjib Biswal.
