Biswal meets Vengsarkar

Ranjit Biswal, one of the cricket selectors of BCCI, today met head of the selection committee Dilip Vengsarkar here in an apparent bid to resolve the standoff over the Board's asking him to stop writing his newspaper columns.

There was, however, no official word on what transpired at the meeting between the two. Biswal is a selector from East Zone.

Upset over inadequate compensation offered by the Board to his discontinuing writing for newspapers, Vengsarkar today left Kolkata, where the second test between India and Pakistan is on, in a huff and returned to Mumbai.
