Australian cricket’s experiment with split innings limited-over matches has been shelved by the Cricket Australia playing conditions committee.

“Given that the ICC has now elected to push forward with the 50-over format towards the next World Cup, it wouldn’t have made sense to have our players playing a different format domestically,” Paul Marsh, the chief executive of the Australian Cricketers Association, told.
Sachin Tendulkar was one of the proponents of the split innings limited-over matches as he felt it would reduce the imbalance of the advantage of playing conditions for the team, which won the toss.
