    1:05 PM IST Earlier in the inning - In the former inning, the Zalmi batters dominated the first 15 overs, but the Qalandars made a stunning comeback in the final quarter. After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars chose to field. Mohammad Haris took down Wellalage for 17 runs, but he fell to Shaheen Afridi shortly after, leaving Zalmi at 18/1. Kusal Mendis and Babar Azam led the recovery, forming a vital 109-run partnership. Babar anchored the innings with 43 off 40, while Mendis dazzled with 74 runs from 47 balls. The Zalmi looked strong at 150/2 in the 17th over. However, after Mendis’s wicket, they collapsed, losing 5 wickets for just 18 runs, slipping to 168/7. What could have been a score around 200 ended up at only 173/7. Shaheen Afridi shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs, while Mustafizur Rahman supported with 2 for 30.

Despite a promising start from Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique, who formed a solid 40-run partnership after Naeem's early exit, their momentum was disrupted by Nahid Rana's timely breakthrough. From that point on, it was all about Bracewell, who decisively claimed the crucial wickets of Zaman, Sikandar Raza, and Haseebullah Khan, effectively choking the batting order and leaving the team struggling. After the fall of the fifth wicket, the wickets started to tumble, and the hopes of getting close to the target faded slowly. It was Dunith Wellalage who fought hard, but just couldn’t get the better of the Zalmi bowlers. By the end of the inning, Michael Bracewell and Sufiyan Muqeem bagged three wickets each, Nahid Rana picked up 2 and Aamer Jamal and Shoriful Islam chipped in for one each.
