"New Zealand Cricket and the BCCI are continuing in discussions over the possible extension of India's tour to New Zealand. A decision on the tour is now expected next week," the NZC said in a statement.

India is originally scheduled to play a Twenty20 international, five ODIs and two Test matches from March 6 to April 3.

The Twenty20 match is scheduled on March 6 at the Westpac Stadium here, followed by the ODIs in Napier (March 8 and 17), Hamilton (March 11), Auckland (March 14) and Christchurch (March 20).

India is scheduled to play a three-day match in Christchurch before the Test series starts. The first Test starts at Hamilton on March 30 and the second at the Basin Reserve here on April 3.
