Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2023 on April 28 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The team will look to continue their winning ways after defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last game.

PBKS have won four and lost three of their seven matches in the ongoing IPL season. The Trevor Bayliss-coached outfit defeated Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in their opening two matches before suffering two losses against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans in subsequent games. Then PBKS defeated LSG in a hard-fought encounter by two wickets in Lucknow in the reverse fixture. PBKS lost to RCB in their last game in Mohali but bounced back strongly to defeat MI in their last game.

Punjab Kings registered their fourth win of IPL 2023 as they beat Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Captain Sam Curran's momentum-shifting innings of 55 (29), Harpreet Bhatia's attacking 41(28) coupled with Jitesh Sharma's explosive cameo of 25(7) powered PBKS to 214/8. Arshdeep Singh then bowled a splendid spell of 4/29 as PBKS survived Cameron Green (67 off 43), Suryakumar Yadav (57 off 26) and Tim David (25* off 13) blitzes to win the match by 13 runs.

Captain Shikhar Dhawan has scored 233 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 146 so far this season. He has missed the last few games with injury and it is currently not known when he will be back. The team is heavily reliant on the skipper as even after missing the last few games he is still the top run-getter for the side.

Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma have scored 159 and 145 runs so far respectively. Stand-in captain Sam Curran scored his first half-century of the season in the last game and has now chipped in with 142 runs so far.

Liam Livingston and Matt Short have not had the desired impact in the last few games but are important to the team as they offer bowling options as well. Sikandar Raza could replace either of them in the side as he offers similar options to the team.

Arshdeep Singh has picked up thirteen wickets at an economy of eight, while Nathan Ellis has chipped in with seven this season. Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar have also chipped in with nine wickets between them. Sam Curran has also picked up five wickets so far.

Ellis and Rabada have both shared duties as the second overseas seamer so far, Ellis was expensive in the last game so Rabada might come back in for the next one.

Impact Player: Rishi Dhawan, Rahul Chahar, Mohit Rathee, Harpreet Bhatia and Gurnoor Brar could all be options for the Impact player role.

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan (c)/Atharva Taide, Prabhsimran Singh.

Top and Middle Order: Shahrukh Khan, Jitesh Sharma (wk).

All-Rounders: Matt Short, Sam Curran, Liam Livingston.

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, Kagiso Rabada.
