India win toss, elect to field against Afghanistan

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field against Afghanistan in the teams' opening Group C match in the World Twenty20 in Gros Islet on Saturday.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field against Afghanistan in the teams' opening Group C match in the World Twenty20 in Gros Islet on Saturday.

Former champions India omitted Rohit Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Piyush Chawla and Dinesh Karthik from the final eleven.

This is Afghanistan's first match in the World Twenty20.
