Sreesanth was ruled out after an MRI scan on Monday revealed he has a ligament tear.

The BCCI nor the team management have made an official announcement yet about Sreesanth's injury.

Vidarbha pacer Umesh Yadav, who along with Jaydev Unadkat, is here as a net bowler is likely to be asked to stay back, team sources said.

Sreesanth's return would be a bad news for India as the visitors already have a depleted pace attack in absence of spearhead Zaheer Khan who is nursing a shoulder injury.

With Sreesanth too being ruled out, Ishant Sharma would have to lead the pace attack, which also includes Zaheer's replacement Abhimanyu Mithun.

India are scheduled to play a three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Board President's XI here from Tuesday.
