It was reported that players' contracts have a clause that entails a deduction of 20% from players' salary if the team fails to qualify for the Champions League. However, it was confirmed on Thursday that the clause was misinterpreted.

"The actual clause is that if a team qualifies for the Champions League and the player makes himself unavailable, the franchisee will then deduct 20%," said an IPL insider.

"It means that the contract is inclusive of a player's remuneration for Champions League."

The meeting will phrase a reply to Mumbai Indians' objections over the conduct of IPL auction.
