KKR Predicted XI against SRH: Kolkata set to make two big changes
Kolkata Knight Riders slumped to their fourth consecutive loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they were beaten by Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.
It was a horrible day for the KKR bowlers as they were taken apart by Virat Kohli and Moeen Ali. Kuldeep Yadav bled 27 runs with Ali going berserk, smashing the star India spinner for three sixes and two boundaries. The spinner ended with figures of 1/59 in four overs.
In reply, Lynn was dismissed in the very first over by Dale Steyn and Robin Uthappa had a terrible outing. Andre Russell tried his best to pull off another improbable chase for KKR in the company of Nitish Rana but this time it wasn’t to be. Needing 24 runs in the final over, they fell short by 10 runs.
Russell even questioned the team’s decision to send him lower down the order when the likes of Robin Uthappa struggled. “I believe that (I should have batted at No 4)... Honestly, I think sometimes you have to flexible as a team. Looking at the make-up of our team, I would not mind going to bat at No 4.
“When I am at the crease, Virat Kohli is going to bowl his best bowlers to get me out. And those best bowlers will have less overs remaining in the back end.
“So even if I score 60 off 25 balls, and give the team that the early pump then bowlers like Dale Steyn will have only one over left at the death, or they may bowl out...”
With KKR taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, they will have to make a couple of changes with Robin Uthappa and Kuldeep Yadav missing out.
Rinku Singh had a good outing in the domestic circuit and he will be a like for like replacement when it comes to Uthappa. Kuldeep also had a horrible outing and he can be rested with KC Cariappa taking his place in the KKR playing XI.
Predicted XI: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, KC Cariappa, Piyush Chawla, Harry Gurney, Prasidh Krishna
