KL Rahul expected to be fit for Mumbai Test, Hardik Pandya released from squad
India have released all-rounder Hardik Pandya from the Test squad after he sustained an injury to his right shoulder during a training session in Mohali.
Pandya, who had earned a maiden call-up to the national Test squad before the start of the series, has not featured in any of the three Tests so far.
According to a BCCI release, the board’s medical team confirmed that he will consult a specialist to decide the future course of action. Pandya made his ODI debut against New Zealand in October, after having made his T20I debut in the same year.
Batsman KL Rahul has also been released to recover from his left forearm injury. He is expected to be fit for the fourth Test match of the ongoing Test series against England to be held in Mumbai from December 8. Rahul was part of the second Test in Vizag after missing out on the first at Rajkot. He did not perform well though, managing just 0 and 10 in the two innings.
He was drafted into the squad after he scored a scintillating ton against Team Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy. He had missed the last two Tests against New Zealand due to injury.
