19:35 hrs IST: RCB have become the second team after Delhi Daredevils to be eliminated from the competition. Their 30-run loss prolongs Virat Kohli’s nightmare as far as the team is concerned in the IPL when it comes to play-offs.
19:19 hrs IST: One more nail in RCB’s coffin as Tim Southee holes out to wide long on off Jaydev Unadkat. This has been a stunning performance from Ajinkya Rahane’s side and for Virat Kohli’s the nightmare is prolonged.
19:14 hrs IST: Jofra Archer continues to have a bad day as he is thumped down the ground by Tim Southee for a boundary. RCB need 44 off 18 balls. They have to pray for a miracle but RR have some good bowlers who can execute their skills well in the death overs.
19:11 hrs IST: Mohammed Siraj gets off the mark by pulling a short, slow ball from Laughlin but one feels it is too late. RCB are staring closer to the elimination mark unless Tim Southee plays a miracle knock.
19:06 hrs IST: Brilliant all-round show by RR. Sarfaraz’s miserable tournament ends as he looks to steer a short off-cutter to third man but Klassen takes a brilliant one-handed catch. Next ball, Laughlin detonates Umesh Yadav’s middle and off stump to put RR closer to victory.
19:03 hrs IST: Sarfaraz Khan hits a four over mid off but RR concede just six runs in the 15th over. There is no chance of RCB overhauling Mumbai Indians on NRR. However, that might be irrelevant as they might crash out of the play-off race.
18:58 hrs IST: Only four runs in the 14th over. The asking rate is mounting for RCB. In the last five overs, they have lost five wickets and scored just 24 runs. The middle order collapse, which has always been the bane of RCB’s batting, has come back to hurt them at a crucial time. However, they can still hope for a miracle.
18:50 hrs IST: Brilliant from Shreyas Gopal. He is having the time of his life. AB de Villiers falls as he is lured by a googly from Gopal and he is out of the crease. Third stumping for Heinrich Klassen. This is simply outstanding and this spell could give RR a place in the play-offs.
18:47 hrs IST: Another wicket and RCB are not giving ABD enough support. Flighted legbreak on off stump, Colin de Grandhomme drives and the edge is taken by Rahane at slip. Can RR build the pressure to get the wicket of AB de Villiers?
18:41 hrs IST: Shreyas Gopal, you beauty, takes his third wicket and RR continue to fight. The flighted legbreak on off stump, Mandeep Singh charges down the track and misses it, Heinrich Klassen has his second stumping and the match tilts towards the hosts again.
18:38 hrs IST: Another solid over from Ish Sodhi. However, AB de Villiers is nearing a fifty and unless he is there, RCB can win this. With his wicket, the balance tilts towards RR.
18:34 hrs IST: Rajasthan Royals have roared back in the contest thanks to Shreyas Gopal. The googly on leg stump and Moeen Ali drills it back to the bowler who takes the catch. Can RR pile on the pressure? For that, they need to get AB de Villiers out.
18:30 hrs IST: Parthiv Patel goes for the cut to a ball that stays low, he comes out of the crease and Klassen effects an easy stumping. The fifty stand is broken and now the game is evenly poised. If RR get de Villiers’ wicket, then RCB could be in real trouble.
18:25 hrs IST: RCB continue to maintain a decent tempo as Shreyas Gopal concedes eight runs in his first over. They need 102 off 78, but to boost their NRR, they need 102 off 53 balls.
18:19 hrs IST: Sanju Samson tries to pull off a Trent Boult and take a stunning one-handed catch diving back but he is unable to do and Parthiv Patel survives. Couple of balls later, he drills a full ball from Jaydev Unadkat past the gap at wide mid-off for a boundary. After the end of the powerplay, RCB are 55/1 and on course to overhaul the target in 15.5 overs, which is needed if they are to overhaul Mumbai Indians’ Net Run-Rate.
18:14 hrs IST: Brilliant batting from AB de Villiers. He dances down the track and clobbers a length ball down the ground and then Parthiv Patel slices a full and wide ball over short third man for a boundary.
18:09 hrs IST: Simply sublime from AB de Villiers. He pulls a short ball for a four to long leg, elegantly punches a length ball to the deep extra cover fence and then wallops a pull to the deep mid wicket fence. Jofra Archer is having an off day and RCB are 35/1 after four overs.
18:04 hrs IST: Brilliant stuff from Gowtham. The pressure he built has resulted in the wicket. He shortens the length up and the off-break comes back in, Kohli goes for an ugly slog and is cleaned up. AB de Villiers enters the arena. All hopes are pinned on him now.
18:02 hrs IST: Great first over from Krishnappa Gowtham as he troubles Kohli with his drift and spin. However, Parthiv Patel gets RCB off to a flier as he upper-cuts two sixes off Jofra Archer over third man. Remember, RCB ust chase this target down in 15.5 overs if they have to overhaul Mumbai Indians’ Net Run-Rate.
17:43 hrs IST: K Gowtham slams two sixes and helps Rajasthan Royals end on 164/5. It is a tricky total for RCB and they will have to rely on the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to help them get to the target.
17:35 hrs IST: Superb batting from Heinrich Klassen. He carves a full ball over square third man for a six and then scoops a full toss for four to fine leg. However, Siraj has his revenge as the South African wicketkeeper miscues his lofted shot to be caught at long off.
17:29 hrs IST: Another excellent over from Tim Southee. Only seven runs and RCB’s bowlers are doing the job n the death overs. Can Tripathi and Heinrich Klassen break the shackles?
17:23 hrs IST: Only five runs in the 17th over bowled by Chahal. Can RCB restrict RR to under 150 at this venue where chasing generally is tougher for the team batting second?
17:19 hrs IST: Heinrich Klassen gets going with two boundaries off Siraj. Rajasthan Royals have started well in the death overs and they will need the momentum to continue.
17:14 hrs IST: Rahul Tripathi continues to blaze away as he launches Moeen Ali straight down the ground for his third six. He has to bat till the end if Rajasthan Royals are to reach a competitive score.
17:09 hrs IST: An action packed over from Umesh Yadav comes to an end. He traps Heinrich Klassen in front with a full ball tailing in and the umpire gives him out LBW, the batsman reviews and replays show that he had a faint inside edge. Excellent stuff from Umesh as he ends with figures of 4-1-25-3.
17:04 hrs IST: Umesh is on a hat-trick. Length ball on the pads and Sanju Samson flicks it to short mid wicket. RCB are fighting back in style. In the previous encounter against RCB, Samson had stolen the show with a blazing 92. Cricket is indeed a great leveller.
17:03 hrs IST: WICKET - Awesome bowling from Umesh Yadav. Ajinkya Rahane shuffles to the off side and decides to ramp a full ball over fine leg but misses it and gets hit on the back leg. RCB appeal and the umpire gives it out. Rahane goes for the review but the replays show the impact is umpire’s call and it was hitting off stump.
17:00 hrs IST: Brilliant stuff from Rahul Tripathi. He has changed gears by mauling de Grandhomme for a six over deep mid wicket and then steers a flatter delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal to the third man fence. Can RR reach a total in excess of 180?
16:47 hrs IST: A huge nine-ball over from Colin de Grandhomme comes to an end. Rahul Tripathi is nearing a fifty while Ajinkya Rahane is looking in great touch. RR need the partnership to flourish as they reach 74/1 after 10 overs.
16:40 hrs IST: Rahul Tripathi is finally coming good for Rajasthan Royals in this edition of the tournament. He is nearing a fifty while the ploy to bowl Umesh Yadav does not work as he concedes nine runs in his third over.
16:37 hrs IST: The fifty-run stand is up between Rahul Tripathi and Ajinkya Rahane. Good pace from the likes of Mohammed SIraj. Umesh Yadav is getting one more over as RCB look to break this stubborn stand.
16:31 hrs IST: Good comeback from Tim Southee after the time-out. The length is back and there is hardly any space given to the batsmen for runs. Only five runs in the seventh over.
16:24 hrs IST: Yuzvendra Chahal concedes two boundaries, one an inside-out lofted drive over extra cover and a pull shot to deep mid wicket but the legspinner comes back strongly. End of the powerplay and RR have reached 45/1
16:21 hrs IST: Expensive first over from Tim Southee. Rahane finds a boundary to square leg by tucking a short ball off his hips but AB de Villiers stops another boundary with a good stop at mid-off. After five overs, RR are scoring at seven per over.
16:12 hrs IST: Moeen Ali concedes 10 runs from his opening over. RR 12/1 in 3 overs.
16:08 hrs IST: A wicket maiden from Umesh Yadav. RR 2/1 in 2 overs.

15:10 hrs IST: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the IPL 2018 match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The biggest factor behind RCB’s recent resurgence has been the performances of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. In the last game, all-rounder Moeen Ali too played a match-winning role.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will be without their star batsman Jos Buttler who will miss the rest of the tournament due to national team commitments.
Buttler has been the heart and soul of RR batting with five half centuries in the last six games and his absence will be a huge blow for the side which desperately needs a win to quality for the playoffs.
