"I don't have words to express my admiration for Sachin," MNS president Raj Thackeray said.
Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde said, "I stop all my work and watch TV when Sachin is playing. His knock on Wednesday was simply brilliant."
"Sachin's honour is Maharashtra's honour," Union heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said, describing Sachin's unbeaten knock as historic.
Bollywood actor Nana Patekar said watching Sachin's batting is always a thrilling experience and was more so today. "He is brilliant.... Everyone knows that," he said.
Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, an avid cricket lover, was not available for comment. Sachin was the target of the Sena chief's tirade recently over his 'Mumbai for all Indians' remark.
