Australian spinner Bryce McGain was spared the rod despite missing the team flight to South Africa on Monday.
The Victorian over-slept and missed the flight from Melbourne to join the team in Sydney. It was only a call from his state team mate Andrew McDonald that woke him up and McGain had to fly to South Africa via Hong Kong and arrived at the Potchefstroom team hotel on Tuesday morning, 12 hours after his team mates.
The 36-year-old was hauled before the leadership group on Wednesday morning and was let off with just a warning. Cricket Australia (CA) decided to keep the proceedings of the meeting under wraps.
"It has all been dealt with internally," team coach Tim Nielsen was quoted as saying in the Australian media.
McGain, who is yet to make his international debut, is considered Australia's best leg-spinner at the moment.
