"We are trying to keep things as simple as possible and not complicate them, but the season has not gone as we wanted and hence those many changes. We have to win all games, but we can't look that far ahead. We have to see how we perform in this game and take it from there," says Rohit.

Two changes for Chennai! "We are going to bowl first. The wicket looks a bit damp and we want to take advantage. It might spin a bit initially and the dew might come in the second half. We have a couple of changes in place of Moeen and Jordan, Pretorius and Santner come in," says Jadeja.

Riley Meredith has been handed debut cap! He can bowl some quick deliveries and play the role of a third seamer alongside Bumrah and Unadkat.

"I always think this is the season's biggest match, considering the number of times we have won the title and the rivalry that exists between us. It's also important for us to win, we just need to continue playing with intensity," says Ishan Kishan.

"This pitch was used early on in the tournament where Punjab Kings belted RCB in a huge chase, so expect lots of runs. It is a little dry, nice and hard, and has plenty of grass on it but the big question will be whether the captain that wins the toss bats first," says Matthew Hayden about the surface.

"I think that will suit Chennai and their three spinners are going to come into play."

Dwayne Bravo has 31 IPL wickets against Mumbai Indians in 20 matches. His four overs will be crucial tonight, and Jadeja can also bring in Maheesh Theekshana early.

Tilak Varma scored 26 in the previous game and Dewald Brevis hit an attacking 13-ball 31. The two youngsters have shown glimpses of their ability but Mumbai need someone like Rohit or Pollard to lead from the front. Even Jasprit Bumrah, who is manfully carrying the burden of the bowling attack, has managed to pluck just four wickets so far.

Kieron Pollard, who announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday, is yet to click this season. The West Indian has managed to score just 82 runs so far. Can he rediscover his lost mojo against a familiar opposition?

Among the current Mumbai Indians lot, Mayank Markande holds the best bowling figures (3/23) at the venue. For Chennai, Dwayne Bravo had picked up a four-fer against Mumbai at DY Patil Stadium back in 2013.
