A familiar face revisited Eden Gardens on Sunday. Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin took a break from campaigning for Congress ahead of the upcoming assembly elections and dropped in at the venue where his eventful journey in international cricket started.
The MP from Moradabad had scored a century in that Test against England in 1984-85 and several of his achievements as captain came here including the Hero Cup triumph in 1993.
Eden used to roar when he stepped on to the turf those days, but this being T20 with Gen Y packing the stands, there was just a muted reception.
