CP Joshi tames Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir in Rajasthan Cricket Association polls

CP Joshi defeated Ruchir Modi to be elected the President of Rajasthan Cricket Association for the second time.

Ruchir Modi is son of Lalit Modi, who had been Rajasthan Cricket Association president twice form 2005-09 and 2013-17. He lost the Rajasthan elections to veteran politician CP Joshi(Twitter)

Former union minister CP Joshi on Friday was elected the president of Rajasthan Cricket Association for the second time. Earlier, he was president from 2009 to 2013.

Joshi defeated Ruchir Modi by five votes. Ruchir, 22, is the son of Lalit Modi, who had been president twice from 2005-09 and 2013-17.

The RCA elections were conducted asper the recommendations of Retd. justice RM Lodha.

However, important posts in the panel - secretary and treasurer - has gone to Modi camp’s Rajendra Singh Nandu from Nagaur and Pinkesh Kumar Jain from Pratapgarh respectively.

Vice President Mohammad Iqbal, joint secretary Mahendra Nahar and executive member KK Nimawat has been elected from Joshi camp.
