SRH vs KKR Highlights, IPL 2022: Tripathi, Markram power Sunrisers Hyderabad to seven-wicket win over Kolkata

Kolkata will expect more consistency from the likes of Nitish Rana, Andre Russell and Sam Billings. The focus will also be on Rahul Tripathi, who is set to face his former IPL side.

After a string of lowly scores, Ajinkya Rahane may sit out of the playing eleven as Aaron Finch is available for the game. Kolkata could exclude Sam Billings and draft the Australian as their fourth overseas pick. Sheldon Jackson will be keeping the wickets in that case.

The lone bright spot for Kolkata in the previous game was Shreyas Iyer's fighting fifty. The skipper hit 54 off 33 balls before getting stumped to a googly from former KKR man Kuldeep Yadav. The chinaman bowler ended up taking a four-fer against his previous IPL franchise.

Kolkata will also expect runs from Venkatesh Iyer, who is yet to notch up a big score. With one fifty from five innings, the left-handed opener has scored just 97 runs in the first five games.

Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell also looked ordinary against Delhi. But Kolkata will be more worried over Ajinkya Rahane's form. The seasoned batter has got three single-digit scores in the first five matches.

The ongoing competition has witnessed the first case of Covid-19. Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart has been tested positive and is being closely monitored by the Capitals' medical team at the moment.

Kolkata will expect a better bowling performance after an ineffective show against Delhi. In-form Umesh Yadav had his first bad day of the season as he conceded 48 runs for one wicket. Pat Cummins also leaked 51 in his four overs against the Delhi outfit.

Kolkata Knight Riders are heading into the match after a loss against Delhi Capitals but the side has got enough firepower to turn things around. 

They are currently second on the points table with three wins in five games. Gujarat Titans are first with four victories so far.

Rasikh played two games for Kolkata in the ongoing tournament. Along with Rasikh, Deepak Chahar of Chennai Super Kings has also been ruled out of the season.

Just In: Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Rasikh Salam has been ruled out owing to a lower back injury and will take no further part in the tournament. The franchise has signed Harshit Rana, from Delhi, as his replacement.

Sunrisers Hyderabad can go with Abdul Samad in Washington's absence. They also have Shreyas Gopal, who can come in as a specialist tweaker in the team. Sundar was the lone specialist spinner for Hyderabad so far. Hyderabad also have left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith in the mix.

"Washington has torn the webbing in his right hand, between his thumb and first finger. We must monitor that over the next two-three days. Hopefully, it isn't a significant blow. I'd imagine it'd take probably a week or so to settle down," Moody said after Hyderabad's win over Gujarat.

They have a decent bowling attack but Sunrisers will be missing the services of Washington Sundar. Coach Tom Moody has made it clear that he won't be available for at least two matches and it will be interesting to see who replaces the all-rounder in the XI.

On the bowling front, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan took two wickets apiece while Marco Jansen and Umran Malik got one each. The unit will look to do an encore. 

Bhuvneshwar has been spearheading the attack with all his experience while Umran's thunderbolts and Natarajan's accuracy remain a threat to any batting attack. 

Sunrisers halted the dream run of Gujarat Titans after they chased down the target of 163 with five balls to spare, with skipper Kane Williamson top-scoring with a 57. Young Abhishek Sharma also made 42 at the top of the order before retiring hurt.

Post a mediocre start, Sunrisers Hyderabad have turned things around with two consecutive wins and they now take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Sunrisers have an excellent opportunity to inch closer to the upper half of points table!
