N Srinivasan is expected to break his exile and chair Sunday’s emergent working committee meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Kolkata on Sunday, according to a top board official.
If he doesn’t it could mean that the annual finance report, which needs the board president’s signature, can’t be passed. Interim president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who has remained noncommittal about his status in Sunday’s meeting, doesn’t have the authority to pass that report.
“Srinivasan had come to New Delhi on August 2 to chair the working committee meeting. The meeting had to be cancelled because it wasn’t termed an emergent,” the official said.
“And since he had stepped aside from the board’s daily proceedings, no member can protest his return. As of now I know he is coming to chair Sunday’s meeting,” he said.
Key agenda: Fixing a date for the board’s AGM; Deliberating the NCA recommendations for zonal academies; Revision of India’s tour of South Africa, New Zealand and Asia Cup; Passing of the annual finance report.
