Volts, on the other hand, are anxiously waiting for Dutch player Ryan ten Doeschate, who is playing for Essex in the second division of the English county championship and is likely to miss Tuesday’s tie.

“We knew all along that if Essex has a chance for promotion to Division One, Ryan won’t be available,” said Ross Dyke, Otago Cricket CEO. “However, we got the confirmation from Essex officials that should Ravi Bopara return to the club on Tuesday, and be fit and ready to go, they will release Ryan immediately.”
