Shai Hope's special hundred in his 100th appearance in the format for West Indies and Pooran's impactful 74 helped the hosts finish with 311/6 in 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson revived the Men in Blue after they went three down for 79 in the 18th over, with their respective half-centuries. Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel then added a quick fifty-run partnership before the later put on a breathtaking show in the slog overs to help India complete the chase with just two balls to spare.

Thanks to IPL, they perform on a huge stage. I felt that we bowled nicely. They got off to a good start," said captain Dhawan after the series-clinching victory.
