20-year-old college student kills self, cops find no note

According to the police, around 10 am, the man’s neighbours found something suspicious and when they tried to check on him they found the room locked.

A 20-year-old student of a Delhi University college allegedly ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of his rented room in East Delhi’s Ganesh Nagar Saturday morning. Police said they did not find any suicide note at the scene and efforts are on to find the reason behind the alleged suicide.

According to the police, around 10 am, the man’s neighbours found something suspicious and when they tried to check on him they found the room locked. Police said the deceased, who hailed from Bihar, was a second year student. “The neighbours spotted the man hanging from the ceiling fan of his room and alerted police. No suicide note was found on him,” said a police officer.

DCP (east) Jasmeet Singh said the man’s friends and family members are being questioned to find out more.
