Elderly couple, domestic help found murdered in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar

Another domestic help of the couple who came to work in the morning discovered the triple murder.

An elderly couple and their maid were found murdered at their first floor flat in South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar Sunday morning, police said.

Vishnu Mathur (78), his wife Shashi Mathur (75) and their full time domestic help Khushbu (20) were found with stab wounds in their throats.

“Another domestic help of the couple who came to work around 8.30 am found them murdered. She alerted the neighbours who informed the police,” deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Devender Arya said.

The officer said the entry into the house seemed friendly. Mathur and his wife were retired government officials.

‘The flat was ransacked. It could be robbery. Other angles are also being probed,” Arya said.

The couple’s daughter lives in New Delhi’s Greater Kailash area. Their son died some years ago in a road accident.

The murder comes on the heels of Friday’s mass murder when a private tutor allegedly killed his wife, seven-year-old daughter, five-year-old son and 40-day-old daughter.
