Traffic police in Delhi issued an advisory on Wednesday in view of a rally by thousands of farmers and workers in the Capital against the government’s “anti-worker, anti-people and anti-national” policies.

“Sansad Marg,Janpath and KG Marg are closed for traffic movement due to procession/demonstration and Motorists are advised to take Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Ashoka Road as alternative route (sic),” the department tweeted.

The Kisan-Mazdoor Sangharsh rally started from Ramlila Maidan and will be held from Parliament Street to Jantar Mantar for a public meeting. They have been demanding effective implementation of labour laws, minimum wage, more employment, and recognition of one crore Anganwadi and ASHA workers as a workforce.

The rally has been organised by outfits affiliated to CPI(M) — Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and All India Agriculture Workers Union (AIAWU).
