Yoga Day: Connaught Place out of bounds till 11am on Wednesday

Yoga day events will also be organised in all states with the Union Human Resource Development Ministry directing universities and educational institutions to ensure elaborate arrangements to mark the event.

Traffic will be restricted at Connaught Place in central Delhi in view of the International Yoga Day, with the innner circle, middle circle and radial roads being closed till 11am on Wednesday.

A number of events will be organised on the occasion by the Ayush ministry. The main event will be held at Connaught Place from 6am to 7.40am.

Traffic on the outer circle of CP and the limited stretches of nine roads leading to it will be partially affected from 5am to around 9am, said Joint Commissioner (Traffic) of Delhi Police.

Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Panchkuian Road, Chelmsford Road, Minto Road, Barakhamba Road, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Janpath and Parliament Street will be affected, said the officer.

All other major roads encircling Connaught Place and adjoining areas will remain open for movement of traffic, he added.
