NEW DELHI: Two police constables allegedly thrashed a bus conductor at Kashmere Gate ISBT in north Delhi on Wednesday after he refused to deliver a parcel on their behalf.

The two policemen were sent to the district police lines -- a punishment posting -- after a seven-second video of the cops thrashing the conductor surfaced. The clip shot on a mobile phone has gone viral.

However, no case was registered in connection with the matter as the police did not receive any formal complaint from the conductor.

The police found out about the incident from the video clip, following which the two constables, Neeraj and Neeraj, were summoned. After a brief inquiry, the two constables were sent to the district police lines.

“It appears the two constables had an argument with a bus conductor at the ISBT over the latter’s refusal to carry a parcel on their behalf.

“The video shows the scuffle between the constables and the bus conductor. The ACP is conducting an inquiry into the matter and till then the two constables have been sent to police lines,” a senior police officer said.
