Delhi varsity to begin classes from July 20
NEW DELHI: Delhi University colleges are likely to start the new academic session this week with classes beginning from Wednesday. Classes for all three years will start the same day.

The University is yet to announce the final cutoff list but officials said that classes will begin from July 20 and students admitted under the fifth cutoff can join the classes later.
The fifth cutoff list will be out on July 20 and the admission process will be completed by July 22.
Under the fourth cutoff list the dip ranged from 0.25-0.5 percentage points but popular colleges still had cutoff above 90% in most courses. Admission under the fourth list will continue till Monday.
The first day of colleges for the upcoming academic session will begin on July 20. The fifth cutoff will be announced on Wednesday and admissions will begin the same day. Students, who are admitted later will join classes as and when their admission process is finalised,” said Tarun Das, DU Registrar.
This year the university is only coming out with five cutoff lists. After the final list, colleges with vacant seats will notify the status course-wise and category-wise on its website and the university portal.
Students who had earlier registered on the UG admission portal will have to again apply online and choose the course and college wherever seats are available.
The information will also be on the University website. “The applications will be received online only for 3 days,” said officials.
The college will prepare a merit list of candidates who have applied to the college online and notify the merit list with names and registration numbers of those eligible for admission against vacant seats.
Three lists will be brought out. If seats are vacant, the college will invite applications online and the process will be repeated .“If there is more than one applicant with same ‘ Best Four ’/PCM/ PCB for only one seat in a course, then marks of aggregate of Class 12 will be considered. If these are also same, then all such candidates must be admitted ,” the university notification said.
