NEW DELHI: The weekend started with a pleasant morning in the Capital, but commuting around the city was an ordeal due to flooded roads. The weather was kind with the maximum temperature falling by six degrees Celsius. The meteorology office has forecast similar weather on Sunday, but with moderate rain.

The maximum temperature on Saturday settled at 29.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 3 degrees below normal at 24.6 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded a rainfall of 55.4mm till 5:30pm on Saturday. The rain had started in the wee hours of the morning and till 8:30am, the city recorded 43.4mm of rainfall . The rain caused waterlogging in parts of the city that led to traffic jams. The highest rainfall this season was recorded at 45.8mm on July 4 till 8.30am.
The rain brought down temperature, but the humidity was 100%.
“The skies will remain generally cloudy on Sunday with moderate to light rainfall,” said a Met official. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 29 and 24 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
Apart from light rain forecast on Monday, there is no rain predicted next week.
