A bench comprising justice AK Patnaik and justice JS Khehar turned down the request of senior counsel Harish Salve appearing for Nupur to take up the bail petition for hearing since Friday is the last working day in Supreme Court before summer vacation.

The judges made it clear that they will take up the bail application of petitioner only after hearing the review petition filed by her.

The court will reopen on July 2 after summer vacation. However, the application could be taken up by a vacation bench in case of urgency.

If the Allahabad high court, where another plea has been filed, refuses to grant her bail, Nupur may have to remain in jail till July 2.
