The authority’s chairman, VP Agarwal, received the award from Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday.
The Golden Peacock Eco-Innovation Award is given every year to the most environment-friendly innovative product developed.
The authority’s representatives said they were honoured to have been recognised for their innovative and successful work in the area of environment management.
According to officials, the use of recycled papers has brought in a change in the corporate culture within the organisation as it promotes resource minimisation, recycling and reuse of waste. AAI in association Kalyanmayee — its women welfare association —started this initiative in 2009.
