'Amul baby' is no insult: Tharoor

Taking a divergent line from his party on Kerala CM VS Achutanandan’s “Amul Baby” remark against Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, former union minister Shashi Tharoor has said that he did not find it insulting. HT reports.

Taking a divergent line from his party on Kerala CM VS Achutanandan’s “Amul Baby” remark against Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, former union minister Shashi Tharoor has said that he did not find it insulting.

“Don’t see why Amul baby…insult. Amul babies r fit, strong, focused on the future. Symbolise white revolution which brought milk to the masses,” Tharoor, a Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, wrote on the social networking site Twitter on Wednesday.

On the contrary, the Congress had gone hammer and tongs against Achutanandan for the remark.
