Pradeep Chauhan, admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj with head injuries, was discharged on Monday. The accused was identified as Vineet Kumar, a hairdresser from Malviya Nagar.
The incident occurred around 10.30 pm on Friday, while the victim – a dental technician with Fortis Hospital in Gurgaon – was returning home with his family in a Ritz. Chauhan said a Wagon R in front stopped abruptly, causing the two cars to collide. “When I stepped out, the accused hit me on the head five-six times with an iron rod,” he added.
The man also allegedly attacked Chauhan’s wife, Anjana, when she tried to stop him.
Passersby caught Kumar and handed him over to the police. He has reportedly filed a separate complaint alleging that Chauhan was inebriated at the time of the accident.
