Jigesh Patel was arrested following investigation into a complaint filed by DC Sharma, director (training and licensing) of DGCA, that Patel, a resident of Ahmedabad, had allegedly forged documents.
In April 2007, Patel appeared in three papers but cleared only one. “Then he contacted Eknath Patil, who was earlier arrested in the scam, for help as he was short of 20-30 flying hours. Eknath Patil took R2 lakh from him and prepared a fake marksheet, clearing all the papers,” said a police officer.
