Udyati, a resident of Sector 29, who went to Javed Habib’s hair Xpresso along with her mother on Thursday, could not get a hair cut as the staff allegedly refused to provide their service to the autistic child.

On Saturday, DK Jain, the franchisee of Xpresso at the mall, tendered an apology to the girl’s mother, Sonia Jaitley. “This is tantamount to discrimination.
However, the management was prompt in responding to my complaint,” said Jaitley, who is also a psychotherapist.

“The franchisee has agreed to hold an orientation programme for the staff to deal with autistic children,” Jaitly added.
