Singh retired as the principal of government school in Mukherjee Nagar in 1998.
Education: MA (Economics), MA (Education) and M.Ed. from Meerut University.
Political Career: Singh worked with the Delhi AIDS control society for five years before plunging into active politics in 1998. He contested and won in 2003 from Nand Nagri. He is a member of the Public Accounts Committee. “I always wanted to serve public and was already doing social work while working. I joined active politics after retiring from my job,” he said. He considers the construction of a railway overbridge in his area as his biggest achievement, apart from constructing two schools and six community centres.
Family: Wife Phoolwati Joshi is a teacher in a government school. They have two daughters who are both married.
Cars: Singh owns a Honda City. His wife drives her own car.
