A speeding Blueline bus ran over a 22-year-old pedestrian in the Capital on Saturday after the driver lost control even as the authorities axed permits of 600 Blueline buses in a drive against the 'killer vehicles'.

Police said the incident occurred around 8.45 am in Nangoli area in northwest Delhi. A teenager, Manish, was injured in the accident.

The bus was plying on route 929 between Mubarakpur and Daryaganj. The driver, Dhani Lal has been arrested.

A Blueline ran over an 11-year-old schoolboy July 1, after which the Delhi government announced that the privately run Blueline buses, known for reckless driving, would be phased out soon.
