The chargesheet may name at least seven Gujarat policemen, including an Indian Police Service officer, and a few high-profile politicians for their alleged role in the conspiracy. The agency, meanwhile, is likely to question former Gujarat home minister Amit Shah again for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

According to a CBI source, the order to kill Prajapati was given because he was a key witness in the killings of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausar Bi in November 2005 near Ahmedabad.
