CJI unfurls national flag at Supreme Court

Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia on Monday hoisted the national flag at the Supreme Court premises on the occasion of 64th Independence Day.

Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia on Monday hoisted the national flag at the Supreme Court premises on the occasion of 64th Independence Day.

All judges of the apex court, senior law officers of the Government, Supreme Court Bar Association President and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Kapadia expressed satisfaction that the pendency of cases has gone down since he took over as the CJI in May this year.

He also spoke about the role of judiciary in the country.

Jethmalani expressed concern over violence in the Kashmir Valley and said the government should make all efforts to bring peace in the strife-torn state.
