CM inaugurates solar powered porta cabins

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday inaugurated two solar powered porta cabins at Gole Market.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has commissioned the first two 1KW solar power plant on porta cabin centres of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) in New Delhi district.

These porta cabin centres have been provided by the Delhi government, under the aegis of Bhagidari and 'My Delhi I Care' initiative of the state government. They are primarily located in parks and have no access to electricity.

"The office of the deputy commissioner, New Delhi, had recommended lighting these cabins through solar power system due as they are easy to install and flexible to relocate, if required," said a spokesperson of TPDDL.
