The police on Sunday questioned former TERI chief RK Pachauri in connection with the sexual harassment case against him registered earlier this year.

Police have registered an FIR based on the woman’s allegations at the Lodhi Colony Police station. This is the third time that Pachauri has been questioned in the last three months.
Sources said that the 74-year-old was questioned for around two hours at his Golf Links residence. A police team asked him detailed questions from a questionnaire they had brought with them. Pachauri has denied the allegations against him and claimed that his laptop and cell phone had been misused. The investigating officer had earlier seized his laptop and sent it to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory. The CFSL is yet to submit the result. The woman had submitted a chain of emails to the police, which she claimed was allegedly sent by Pachauri.
Sources said that Pachauri was told that the interrogation is not over and that there would be another round of questioning in the days to come. He is presently facing allegations under sections of molestation and criminal intimidation. The woman researcher had filed a complaint in February this year.
Police sources said that they would expedite the investigation and submit a report to the court by next month. A local court had earlier rapped the police for conducting their investigation at a snail’s pace.
