Delhi: 13-year-old minor alleges father killed his mother

A 13-year-old minor on Wednesday accused his father of killing his mother at their residence Ghazipur residence in East Delhi.

The victim, identified as Kanti Devi, 35, lived with her two sons in a rented accommodation.

“A case of murder has been registered following the minor’s statement. The father did not stay with the family. He had shifted back to stay with the family again on June 5. The couple apparently had a tiff before the incident. The woman was attacked and suffered an injury on her head apparently caused by a blunt object,” a senior police officer said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Kumar killed his wife when both his sons were sleeping on the roof.

“On Sunday night, after finishing dinner, the minor went to the terrace to sleep with his brother, aged eight, even as their parents argued over some issue related to money. On Monday morning, he found his mother lying in a pool of blood under the bed,” the officer added.
