
Delhi Police set to Join Facebook soon
Taking a leaf out of the Delhi Traffic Police’s success story, city police commissioner B K Gupta on Wednesday said his force too is planning to open an account on Facebook, one of the most-popular social networking sites. The decision was taken to to help public communicate with the police.

Taking a leaf out of the Delhi Traffic Police’s success story, city police commissioner B K Gupta on Wednesday said his force too is planning to open an account on Facebook, one of the most-popular social networking sites. The decision was taken to to help public communicate with the police.
“We need feedback from the public. Our traffic wing is getting tremendous response,” Gupta told reporters here.
The traffic wing’s Facebook account ‘Delhi Traffic Police’ has at least 38,891 members.
It provides the public space to air their views and upload photographs of vehicles violating traffic rules.

This is as per the Delhi Economic Survey report 2020-21 presented on Monday. Delhi Metro train services were suspended from March 22 onwards in 2020 only resuming on September 7.

- Delhi reported 312 and 321 new Covid-19 cases on Friday and Saturday respectively. Authorities in the national capital were advised by the health ministry to keep a check on the number of rising cases after the daily infections reported on March 5 and March 6 went above 300.
